Dıbie and Dıbie Lake

Dabie is the largest borough of Szczecin on the right bank of Odra river. It is situated at Dabie Lake and the Plonia river. In the East the district is surrounded by the Goleniowska Forest and meadows, in the West it borders with the Regalica river, in the South with Zdroje, Sloneczne and Kijewo districts. You can get to Dabie from the centre taking trams number 7 and 8, reaching the end stop – Basen Gorniczy, and then taking buses 56 or 62. Turbulent history of this Slavonic village and stronghold that turned into town competing with Szczecin for trade influences encourages tourists to take a stroll along its streets. There are a couple of priceless monuments. They include:

· The Church Of The Ascension Of The Virgin Mary
· Ducal Hunting Palace.

Dabie Borough is very attractive for tourists (though potential recreation areas require complex development). It owes it to the lake of the same name. Dabie Lake is a postglacial lake in a river delta and covers 56 km2. (It is the fourth largest lake in Poland). It lies entirely within the administrative borders of Szczecin. It is approx. 17 km long, and from 2 to 7.5 km wide. It is a shallow lake, with depth from 2.8 m to approx. 6.8 m along the fairway.
On the southern shore of the lake a few marinas can be found, as well as the “Marina” campsite. Some marinas provide services for yachts that moor there.
